SOE signal: sequence of events (resolution not greater than 2ms), record the time of occurrence of events ( switch or protection action) one by one in order, this is the sequence of events record.
COS signal (non-SOE): remote signal displacement (without time stamp).
The SOE signal is sent with a time stamp at the station end . The non-SOE signal is sent directly to the main station without a time stamp , and then the time stamp of the main station is added after arriving at the main station.
SOE record is the record of the sequence of events. When a remote signal displacement occurs in the power equipment, such as a switch displacement, the power protection equipment or smart power meter will automatically record the displacement time, the cause of the displacement, and the corresponding remote measurement value when the switch trips (such as Corresponding three-phase current , active power, etc.) to form an SOE record for subsequent analysis.
When remote signaling changes occur in power equipment, such as switch changes, under normal circumstances, the power protection equipment will send back two types of information, one is SOE information and the other is non-SOE information . Non-SOE information (simple change signal 0 or 1) is sent back immediately , and SOE information is sent later. After a displacement occurs, the non-SOE information is sent immediately. At the same time, the power protection equipment will automatically record the displacement time, the cause of the displacement, the corresponding remote measurement value when the switch trips, etc., to form an SOE record, and the protection equipment will automatically return when idle. Send SOE records.
The displacement information sent back by non-SOE will be delayed when reaching the server due to transmission delay.
Question: In the current substation comprehensive automation system, the SOE signals and non-SOE signals are the same in terms of content, but there is a slight difference in time. Why are non-SOE signals needed? Doesn’t it only work with SOE signal? What’s the difference between the two? There is an understanding that not all signals need to be time stamped, that is, soe, to reduce the amount of communication data. Today’s systems and communication methods are much more mature than before. Basically all signals have soe, and the main station or local front-end can handle all signals well.
